"Game Birds of Africa"
The Western and Eastern Cape of South Africa is the location of some of the finest and most exciting wing shooting available. Gamebird species available for this exciting hunt are: Guinea fowl, Greywing partridge, Cape francolin, Dove and Pigeon. We spezialise in Sandgrouse shoots in the Kalahari and Northern Cape.
Waterfowl species available to be hunted: Yellow-billed duck, Shellduck, Cape teal, Red-billed teal, Southern pochard, Cape shoveler, Maccoaduck, Egyptian geese and Spurwing geese.

"Game Birds of Africa" Safari operated by Onjonas Safaris:
Day 1: Arrive in Cape Town. Reception at the airport and transfer to Ceres via Villeria Wine Estate for tasting South African wines. Overnight at the historical Belmont Hotel.
Day 2: Morning guinea fowl shoot. Afternoon: dove/pigeon shoot. Overnight in the Belmont Hotel.
Day 3: Greywing partridge shooting both in the morning and afternoon, using german shorthaired pointers. Overnight at Bergstroom Lodge.
Day 4: Morning waterfowl shoot for spurwing geese, egyptian geese and a variety of Southern African ducks. Afternoon guinea fowl and cape francolin combined shoot at Kouebokkefeld. Overnight at Bergstroom Lodge.
Day 5: Morning waterfowl shoot. Same species as day 4. Afternoon depart for Bredasdorp. Overnight in Bredasdorp.
Day 6: Morning cape francolin shoot over german shorthaired pointers. Depart for the Eastern Cape via the famous Garden Route. The Garden Route is one of the most beautiful coastal views in the world. Overnight at Storms River or Jeffrey's Bay.
Day 7: Drive to Molteno for a fantastic greywing partridge hunt using champion english pointers. Overnight at the Hunting Lodge.
Day 8: Morning greywing hunt using champion english pointers. Afternoon waterfowl shoot - all species except maccoa duck. Overnight at Stormberg Lodge.
Day 9: Morning guinea fowl and greywing or waterfowl - hunters will select. Afternoon depart for Port Elizabeth to return to Cape Town. Your package hunt ends on this day.
Options
- Sandgrouse shooting can be arranged in Namibia or the Kalahari for a period of three days - US$750 per day per gun.
- Two-day sightseeing in Cape Town.
- Hunting plainsgame at normal rates and trophy fees.
Tariffs
Above hunting package is available for US$6500 per person, excluding airfares and costs of shells. The amount of US$6500 is based on a group of six hunters and will increase to US$7250 per person if the party is four hunters.
- Observers at US$3500 per person.
- Shells are available at US$10-00/per box of 25. 12 Gauge and 20 Gauge shotguns recommended. Bird hunters who shoot other calibers should bring along their own ammunition
- The package price includes accommodation, all meals, drinks and group transportation. Items not included are airfares, shells and any costs after the hunt ends.
- Only reservations accompanied by a 50% deposit will be accepted.
Miscellaneous information
- Weather and clothing information will be available as part of the documents issued.
- The hunt will take place in Malaria free areas.
